Visitors to St. Paul should be aware of one of St. Paul’s most elusive hotel burglars – a 17-year-old who disguises himself as a messenger boy and who has been stealing from unsuspecting guests. He was shortly caught at Friends Boarding House (254 East Ninth Street) and put in jail, but he quickly escaped confinement and is currently back on the loose.

An unfortunate nighttime occurrence at Forrester’s Boarding House (21 East Ninth Street) nearly asphyxiated all the guests in their sleep. Furnace problems can occur at any hotel and Forrester’s Boarding House should not be singled out.
